Added 2 articles/pictures about the Croke Park afterparty - thanks to Lucy for scanning!
Added 17 Croke Park concert pictures - thanks to Alfee, Newscom, Famous and more. *New* *New* *New* *New* *New* And besides that I have thought up 2 challenges, which I would like to become a new part of TF.net. These are goals I'm hoping to achieve to get Shane & Gillian to know about the existence of this website and to make this website more "personal". But it's something I do need your help with. Actually, it can't do without your help. So if you're interested, keep on reading! For now I have 2 challenges: Challenge 01 - promo card What is it? Well, remember the promotion cards I made months ago? I made a new version of that which I would like to get to Shane, over the next 2 weeks, with the book signings coming up. How does it work? It's a credit card sized card (7,5x5 cm / 2,95x1,97 inches), so easy to take with you in your wallet. So what I want you to do is, if you're going to one of the signings: 1. print one of the cards below 2. get Shane to sign it (preferably addressed to the visitors in general) 3. keep it carefully 4. send it to me by regular post or scan it & email it to me 5. I'll put it on the website for everyone to download or use it as a prize for the next competition
Got that? Then get downloading & spreading the word! The more I get back, the more I can give away! Challenge 02 - video message What is it? With the technology of these days everyone has a digital camera. And one dream of mine that I've had since the start of this website is for Shane (or Gillian) to welcome us all on TF.net. So read on to know what's the plan. How does it work? It's rather easy if you manage to get close to Mr. or Mrs. Filan: 1. tell them you're on a mission and would like to video a message for TF.net 2. if they agree get your camera out (if you hadn't already) 3. ask them to say something like "Hi, welcome to TheFilans.net. Thanks for visiting!" (An even longer message would be great, but they probably won't have time for that) 4. record that on video mode (with sound of course!) & send it to me via email 5. I'll put it on the website for everyone to download/see Got that? Then get out there & try your best! Posted on 08 Jun 2008 by Laura

By Gayle Schoales
IT CAN'T be easy hearing thousands of adoring fans screaming hysterically at your man and reaching out to grab him - but the Westlife other-halves didn't seem to mind. They were all beaming after the band's triumphant return to Dublin with a sell-out concert in Croke Park on Sunday - and they joined in the celebrity celebrations after the show. Nicky Byrne's uptown girl Georgina Ahern - whose father Bertie attended the gig with his other daughter Cecilia - looked stunning in a satin slip as she posed with husband Nicky Byrne. And Shane Filan's blonde wife, childhood sweetheart Gillian Walsh, wowed onlookers in a stylish black top and trousers that proudly displayed her baby bump. Former Hollyoakes beauty Jodi Albert gave her fiance Kian Egan a big hug outside, while Mark Feehily was accompanied by his boyfriend Kevin McDaid at the after-show party that would not have been complete without their manager over the last 10 years, Louis Walsh. The bash at the Cuban-themed Floridita Bar, near Abbey Street in Dublin, included and ice sculpture that spelled the band's name, a chocolate fountain, an unending supply of Russian vodka... And throngs of fans waiting outside, hoping for a glimpse of their idols. It was just like the old days. Part of the 17-date Back Home tour, the gig was completely sold out. Hours before it kicked off, 60 Euro tickets were changing hands for up for 400 Euro online. But once their hangovers subside, Westlife will be back in rehearsals for their last two Irish dates - Pearse Stadium in Galway on June 21, and Fitzgerald Stadium in Killarney on June 22. Guys,
Sorry for the slow updates but I'm really really busy these days with my project for school, working on that night after night after I get home from work, but I promise I'll add all the Croke Park stuff, bit by bit. For tonight I added Shane's emotional thank you from Croke Park to The album thank yous page, yes I know it's not an album thank you, but it's still a thank you and I didn't know where else to put it. It's so cute, bless him! It's taken from a video is I took. Posted on 04 Jun 2008 by Laura

Hi guys,
I got back from Dublin last night and oh my god what a weekend it was! Really really short, too short but fantastic! I just can't start to describe how amazing it was to share such a big event with the lads. They were on top form and they defenitely enjoyed every single second of the show! Anyway, I'm really tired and need to work on a school project which I have to finish for next week, so I'll update the site with pictures and news later on. Just keep checking back as there's a lot to update. Laura x Posted on 03 Jun 2008 by Laura

Hello everyone,
Like many of you out there I'll be leaving Holland behind me for 3 days, as I'm going to Dublin to see the Shane & co in Croke Park. Therefore there won't be any updates this weekend. I'll be back on either Monday night or Tuesday. Have a good weekend and everyone who's going, have fun! Posted on 30 May 2008 by Laura

CHRIS MARTIN has come out – as a fan of Oirish balladeers WESTLIFE.
I am stunned. I always had COLDPLAY down as a band who soaked up inspiration from stadium-slaying rock legends like U2 and OASIS. It’s hard to believe that mid-Nineties boyband dross such as 5IVE, 911 and Da Loif even figure on their radar. In a startling turn of events frontman Chris admitted: “I dreamt about RADIOHEAD last night and Westlife the night before. Which is the perfect blend of what we’re trying to do musically.” Expect standing up from his stool when the key changes on the next tour. Huge I can just imagine SIMON COWELL salivating at the prospect of supervising a Rat Pack-inspired Coldplay revamp. Boyband revelations aside, Chris went on to reveal he is still plagued by insecurity — despite clearly being the singer of Britain’s biggest and best band. He added: “I always dream about other musicians. And they’re never interested in hanging out with us. It’s like being at school and the bigger boys don’t want to play with you.” This from the man who counts music luminaries BONO, NOEL GALLAGHERand JAY-Z as personal chums. He continued: “I can’t believe we’ve got away with becoming this huge band. And we still haven’t done anything I think is that good yet.” Once you hear new album Viva La Vida, out on June 12, you will realise that this is unnecessary modesty. It gets better with each listen. Despite the hysteria surrounding the release, and Coldplay’s previous multi-platinum success, the group have surprisingly never topped the singles chart. And Chris is keen to address this. He told Q magazine: “I want us to make the best No1s in the world — and we’ve never had any.” To get over pre-album release nerves, the lads have a new stress-busting regime. They have been challenging each other to perform daredevil trampolining tricks on the set of their new video. At least it’s safer than smoking crack or driving fancy motors into swimming pools...
