WESTLIFE star Shane Filan shows off his beautiful new baby Patrick for the first time today exclusively in the Irish Daily Mirror.

The 29-year-old shunned a series of big money magazine offers to stick with his favourite newspaper and posed with stunning wife Gillian, daughter Nicole, three, and Patrick at his christening.

Until today Shane has kept the baby under wraps since he was born at Sligo General Hospital on September 15.

Gillian, also 29, was back to her sexy best at the christening in Sligo and Shane looked hot in a designer suit as they joined friends and family for the blessing.

He told the Irish Daily Mirror: "We had a wonderful day and baby Patrick looked absolutely adorable. It was a small private gathering of our family and friends.

"Gillian looked great and little Patrick was fantastic through the service. He took it all in his stride.

"I feel like the luckiest man alive to have an adorable son and daughter. Gillian and I have to keep pinching ourselves."

Shane and his Westlife bandmates have taken a year off to concentrate on their families after a decade at the top of the charts.

And the singer, who confessed he has never been busier, added: "I thought I would be twiddling my thumbs but things are pretty hectic.

"Having the two kids is incredible but it's a lot of work. It's great that I can be around home more to help Gillian out."

One guest at the christening said: "Gillian looked like a million dollars. She has really got her figure back and was absolutely glowing.

"Shane couldn't stop smiling and you can tell just to look at them that they are happier than ever."

Shane Beats A Path Home To Music Festival

WESTLIFE star Shane Filan drums up support for a music festival as he showed off his skills on the bodhran.

He teamed up with Dervis singer Cathy Jordan to launch the five-day Sligo Live which will attract musicians from all over the world.

Proud new dad Shane will be among the guests enjoying the music in his home town which kicks off on Thursday and runs until next Monday. Revellers can enjoy free trad lessons over the weekend and artsists including Cathy Davey, Jason Byrne and Tom Baxter will be among the headliners.

Shane, 29, said: "It's fantastic Sligo will be the centre of the Irish music scene for the next week. We have talent to be proud of and this is a great way of celebrating that."

Shane plans to burn some Rally rubber
WESTLIFE star Shane Filan will next week drive a rally car around Sligo to mark the return of Rally Ireland and the World Rally Championship to these shores in January 2009.

The local Rally Ireland committee will launch the 2009 WRC event on Wednesday of next week (October 29) with a parade of rally cars through the streets of Sligo, headed by Shane Filan.

Shane, who is a self-confessed car lover, will be piloting Donegal driver Shaun Gallagher’s Citroen C2, the car in which Shaun and Sligo co-driver Paul Kiely, have competed in events all over Europe. It is believed that several other rally cars will be involved in the parade at 12.45pm on Wednesday.

Meanwhile Shane and Dervish star Cathy Jordan, helped to drum up some support for the 2008 Sligo Live festival, which takes place this Bank Holiday weekend.

Sligo Live runs from October 23 to 27 and includes an eclectic line-up of entertainment from comedy to traditional music, world music, dance and rock bands. Headliners include Cathy Davey, Tom Baxter and comedian Jason Byrne.

WESTLIFE crooner, Shane Filan, got a few bodhran lessons from Dervish's Cathy Jordan ahead of the big pub session trail at this weekend's Sligo Live Festival.

The popular event kicks off on Thursday 23 and plays on until Monday 27 October.

I'm back from Barcelona
Hi guys,

Just wanted to let you know I'm back home again. Was away for a few days to visit the beautiful city of Barcelona. And a lot has happened in this short period, being: Shane launching Sligo Live Festival, Patrick being christened and there's pictures from both of those events. He will also take part in a rally race around Sligo next Wednesday. I'll update the website through out the day. So if you haven't seen the stuff elsewhere yet, stay tuned!

Away on holidays - no updates
Hi all,

I just wanted to let you know I will be out of town in an hour and out of the country from Tuesday on for 4 days. Which means no updates, sadly enough. I do hope I can give you some new Shane & Gillian pictures from Nicky Byrne's birthday party, next weekend though. I guess that special will be in next week's issue of Hello!, so keep an eye on that one!

And for now, all I wanna say is: have a nice weekend and for everyone who has holidays, just like me, have a nice time!
